Due to the recent increase on fuel price, the market of devices which are used to decrease fuel consumption especially of the vehicles is booming rapidly. However it is always advised to find out before buying such fuel saver devices about their actual efficiency. These devices are very good at controlling the fuel injection but controlling the consumption of the fuel can only be reduced by us.

Consumption of fuel mainly depends on how we use the vehicle. We can easily decrease the consumption of gas driven engines by using our common sense which will cost us nothing rather than using fuel saver devices which might cost a fortune without showing any good result. If we drive sensibly we can almost save up to 10 to 15 percent fuel consumption each time we go on a drive.

We are going provide some regular tips that are going to help you conserve the amount of fuel you have to maximize your vehicle efficiency.
Driving slowly may be a time consuming act but it can save your precious consumption of fuel. If you are not in a hurry then we recommend you to drive slowly as the resistance a vehicle receives while slow driving is lowered which in turn decreases the amount of fuel it needs.

  • Lowering air resistance of a vehicle will also help you achieve efficiency by decreasing wind resistance of the car. It is advised to close windows and sunroof in the freeways to increase the vehicles aerodynamics and also take out the roof racks which are unnecessary and only adds weight to the vehicle.

  • Do not turn on the air conditioning unnecessarily as it consumes a lot of fuel. Unnecessarily turning on the air conditioning in a good weather condition is a very inefficient idea.

  • Unload unnecessary items from the vehicle which is increasing its weight unnecessarily and in turn increasing the fuel consumption of the car.

  • Using cruise control in the highways to avoid unnecessary increase of speed which might cost extra consumption of fuel.

  • Checking tire pressure regularly and setting it to required amount to decrease unwanted friction.

  • Servicing the vehicle regularly and changing the tires, brakes, fluids and other stuffs that are constantly under pressure from wearing off.

Also, a refilling the vehicle is a must. So check out for refueling stations and see if they provide discounts when you pay with your credit card. Discounts and promotions as such is a great opportunity to increase your cost efficiency. Fill up the tanks of the car at night as gas density is higher at night time due to cool weather and will fill up the tank more in fewer prices as the stations charge in volumes not density. Also do not go to stations whose refill tanks are almost empty as the sediment from their tanks may decrease your vehicles efficiency. Also fill up after you are almost empty as it is best to fill up to the limit to escape extra cost.
